A fresh report has emerged about the condition of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was injured while stopping a robbery attempt.
The actor's life is now out of danger after surgery.
This was stated in a statement issued by Mumbai Police.
It should be noted that at around 3 am on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, there was an attempted robbery at Saif Ali Khan's house (apartment) in Bandra, Mumbai, which the actor resisted and foiled
During the resistance, Saif Ali Khan was attacked with a knife, causing him 6 wounds, 2 of which were quite deep, while one wound was closest to the spine.
Senior Mumbai Police official Gedam Dixit told Reuters that the 54-year-old actor was treated in hospital and his life is now out of danger.
Earlier, Indian media quoted hospital authorities as saying that the actor was undergoing surgery and that once it was completed, it would be known how much damage he had sustained.
Saif Ali Khan lives in this apartment with his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and 2 children.
A statement issued by Kareena Kapoor's team confirmed the robbery attempt and said, "The actor is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital, while his wife and two children are safe
Police said that a female maid in the house was also attacked during the robbery attempt and has been treated.
According to police, the incident is under investigation and the attacker is being sought.
No suspects have been identified yet, but police believe someone from the actor's home helped the attacker gain entry.
Earlier, a report stated that during the investigation, the police revealed that the suspect entered the premises of Saif and Kareena's house by climbing over a wall from an adjacent building.
The report said that Mumbai Police is trying to get to the bottom of the attack, keeping in mind the concerns
Bollywood stars and opposition politicians have called on the police to increase security arrangements in the city.
A spokesperson for Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar said, "If such high-profile personalities are attacked at their homes despite security, then what will happen to ordinary people?"
Where were Kareena and the children at the time of the robbery and the attack on Saif?
After the news of the attack on Saif emerged, fans also expressed concern about Kareena and Saif's two sons, but it was later reported that Kareena Kapoor and both children were safe.
At the time of the attack, Kareena and her two sons Jay and Taimur were present at Saif Ali Khan's Bandra house, however, Kareena had been at her sister Karisma Kapoor's house earlier on Wednesday night
