Iran has rejected the US accusation of a drone attack on a Japanese tanker.
According to the foreign news agency, last week, a Japanese tanker was attacked by a drone in the sea near the Indian coast.
The ship arrived off the coast of Mumbai on Monday where an Indian Navy team inspected it, the team's initial report indicating a drone attack on the tanker.
According to the report, the US initially blamed Iran for the attack on the Japanese tanker.
However, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement saying that the accusation of targeting the tanker is useless, rejecting it, such accusations are an attempt to divert people's attention.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry says that such accusations are intended to cover up US support for the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza.
It should be noted that the attack on the Japanese tanker was carried out at a time when the Houthis are conducting drone and missile attacks in the Red Sea.
Due to Houthi attacks, most cargo ships are now passing through the southern tip of Africa.
