Riyadh: Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq al-Rabiyyah, says that in 2023, 13.5 million (one crore, 3.5 million and 50 thousand) Muslims will be blessed with Umrah.
According to the Arab media, while addressing the opening session of the Hajj and Umrah Conference, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiyyah said that in 2023, the largest number of Umrah pilgrims ever achieved the blessing of Umrah.
He said that the number of Umrah pilgrims increased by 58% in the last year 2023, during which a total of 5 million additional pilgrims received the blessings of Umrah.
According to the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah in 2019, the highest number of pilgrims from outside the kingdom was 8.5 million. Last year, due to the increase in facilities, the number of Umrah pilgrims increased to 1.35 lakh 50 thousand.
He further informed that the facilities of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims are being increased through projects exceeding 1.3 billion dollars, these projects include the addition of 1.5 million new air conditioning units so that pilgrims can perform their prayers easily in the hot summer weather. Apart from this, more than 14 thousand toilets and bathrooms are also included.
