December 11, 2023) The Punjab government has withdrawn the detention order of social media activist Khadija Shah, however Quetta police arrested her from Lahore jail. According to the details, the case against the detention of Khadija Shah was heard in the Lahore High Court, where the Punjab government withdrew the order of Khadija Shah's detention.
It has been reported that Khadija Shah's husband Jahanzeb Amin has approached the High Court against detention. At the last hearing, the court reserved its decision on the request for detention. It has been learned that Khadija Shah was arrested from Lahore jail by Quetta police after the Punjab government withdrew the detention order, after which the court also approved Khadija Shah's 2-day transit remand. It has been ordered that Khadija Shah should be produced in the relevant court after the remand is completed.
On the other hand, an investigation has also been started against social media activist Khadija Shah on the charge of money laundering. After the events of May 9, suspicious transactions were revealed in the bank account of Khadija Shah, who was imprisoned in the jail, on the basis of which the National Investigation Agency FIA initiated an inquiry against the social media activist under the Anti-Money Laundering Act. Sources are being told by FIA that FIA has sent letters to the concerned departments to provide the details of the bank account, after all the records are received, the questioning of Khadija Shah will be started. Khadija Shah will be investigated in jail on the matter, where she will also be questioned about the foreign transactions from the bank account.
