Peshawar: A meeting of the Social Welfare Department was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in which the use of Zakat and dowry funds as well as other welfare measures were considered.
It was decided in the meeting that mass ceremonies will be held at the divisional level, more than 4,000 deserving girls of the province will be married using dowry funds, mass wedding ceremonies will be held at the expense of the provincial government, and 2.2 million rupees will also be given in cash to deserving girls who get married.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur said that in marriages under dowry funds, it should be ensured in every respect that only the rightful party gets the right, and inactive shelters in the province should be activated immediately.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also decided to provide wheelchairs to disabled students.
It was decided in the meeting that in the first phase, wheelchairs will be provided to disabled students of higher educational institutions. The meeting also decided to establish an old age home for senior citizens. In addition to accommodation, entertainment will also be arranged for senior citizens in the old age home.
It was decided in the meeting that orphan cards would be issued for orphaned children. It was proposed to provide Rs. 5,000 per month to children at the school level through orphan cards.
