Brandon Williams Joins Golden State Warriors on One-Year Deal

Williams, 26, arrives in Golden State after spending the previous three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks. His 2025–26 campaign was his most productive NBA season so far, as he appeared in 66 games and averaged 13.0 points, 3.9 assists and 22.2 minutes per game.
A Valuable Backcourt Addition
The Warriors have been looking to strengthen their guard depth, and Williams provides another player capable of creating offense and attacking the basket. His quickness and ability to put pressure on defenses could give Golden State additional scoring options away from its established stars.
Williams went undrafted in 2021 after playing college basketball at Arizona. He began his NBA career with the Portland Trail Blazers before eventually establishing himself with Dallas. Over 140 career NBA games, he has averaged 10.7 points, 3.2 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game.

Williams' improved production in Dallas helped make him an attractive option during free agency. Last season, he played 66 games, including 15 starts, and averaged 13.0 points and 3.9 assists while shooting 47.2 percent from the field.
