KP CM Sohail Afridi Offers Dialogue to Centre as PTI Postpones Islamabad March

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has renewed his call for political dialogue with the federal government after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) postponed its planned march towards Islamabad.
The PTI had originally scheduled the long march for September 27. According to reports, the party's political committee later agreed to postpone the march, with the new plan calling for the march to depart from Peshawar on October 4.
Speaking about the political situation, Afridi maintained that dialogue remains an important avenue for resolving differences between the opposition and the federal government. His latest position comes amid continuing political tensions surrounding PTI's planned mobilisation and its demands.
The postponement followed discussions within the PTI leadership and consultations with opposition figures. Afridi said the decision to change the date was taken by the party's political committee.
The PTI has been preparing for the Islamabad march while calling for political and constitutional issues to be addressed. The party has also linked its protest campaign to demands concerning its founding chairman Imran Khan and broader political matters.
The federal government and PTI remain at odds over the planned protest. The latest developments, however, have opened additional time for political discussions before the new October 4 schedule.
For now, attention is focused on whether talks between the federal government and opposition representatives can make progress before the revised march date.
