Islamabad News advertisment Latest - Online December 18, 2021: Federal Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Afghanistan is suffering from problems and the world should not be negligent about it.Today's extraordinary meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers will agree on steps to improve the situation in Afghanistan.
Talking to media after reviewing the arrangements for the OIC meeting in Islamabad, the Foreign Minister said that full arrangements have been made for the delegates to the OIC and they are reviewing the arrangements themselves. I am happy that what Pakistan wanted to believe is being appreciated today, Pakistan was saying that the situation in Afghanistan is critical and worthy of consideration and there could be a humanitarian crisis and this crisis will affect the region.
He said that we were saying that the effects of malnutrition and economic problems in Afghanistan are affecting the world which the world seems to be convinced of. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the 11 commanders who worked in Afghanistan and Safra, who is familiar with the ground realities there, wrote that the Biden administration should reconsider its policy in order to save humanity.
Referring to the letter from Safra and the commander, he said that he had written that the world has invested in Afghanistan and that investment is sinking. "There are many voices with Pakistan today. Members of the US Congress have written a letter to their Secretary of State stating that it is our responsibility to stop the humanitarian crisis," he said.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that we wanted the world to pay attention to Afghanistan. Today our intention has been fulfilled and more than 400 delegations have registered for the OIC meeting to be held for this purpose. And a large number of Ministers of State will be coming here. This agenda will be discussed in this meeting and I am sure that we will be able to reach a consensus in this meeting, this meeting will be historic and important.
"We are on the brink of history. If we take the right steps, then peace and stability can be created in the region and Afghanistan and Afghanistan can be saved from the humanitarian crisis. The whole of Europe, including countries, could be affected. He said that the withdrawal from Afghanistan would be due to the economic crisis, so we want peace and stability in Afghanistan and employment opportunities for the people there. So that the Afghans who are being hosted by Pakistan can also return to their country.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has been working for peace and stability in Afghanistan, which is the result of this meeting, and we hope that we will achieve our goal. I hope that their decision will be positive. Apart from the conference, the foreign ministers will also have separate meetings with the Prime Minister and me in which various issues will be discussed. So far 14 meetings have been scheduled in the Foreign Office.
