According to a report by private TV channel ARY News, Mian Tahir, while speaking on the Assembly floor, pointed out the large residences of government officials and demanded that these residences be converted into public parks.Mian Tahir said that government officials live in 12-acre residences, they should be converted into one-kanal mansions and these residences should be allotted to the public.


The government bench also responded positively to the PML-N member's suggestion. Responding to the suggestion of the League member, the parliamentary secretary said that given the fact that government officials in the province live in large residences, the law would have to be amended to provide smaller residences.

In response to the Parliamentary Secretary, the Deputy Speaker said that you should amend this system to change it. The Parliamentary Secretary assured the House that Mian Tahir's proposal was good and the government would look into the matter. The meeting also passed a resolution demanding creation of a housing scheme for the members of Punjab Assembly on the lines of Sahafi Colony.

It should be noted here that after the PTI took over the government in Punjab, an attempt has been made to use important government buildings for public entertainment. In this regard, Prime Minister Imran Khan, fulfilling his promise, had opened the Governor House in Lahore to the public. Attempts were also made to use government buildings at tourist sites for tourists.
