According to media reports, the Munda headwaters were washed away in the flood relay of Swat and Lower Dir, after which the districts of Charsadda, Nowshera and Shabqadar have been exposed to the risk of major floods.
On August 26 at 11 pm, the Munda headworks located near Charsadda district broke down due to flood water, after which there is a definite risk of flooding in Charsadda, Nowshera and surrounding areas. The administration says to save your life and that of your loved ones, leave your home and move to the camps designated by the government.
Earlier, in view of the fear of flooding, Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was also declared under emergency.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Nowshera said that there is a fear of the highest flood in the Kabul River at Nowshera. In the next 24 to 48 hours, the water flow in the Kabul River at Nowshera is likely to increase to 3 lakh to 4 lakh 10 thousand cusecs. Due to which there is a possibility of creating a more dangerous situation than the flood of 2010. In this situation, while announcing the implementation of emergency in the district, it has been stated that all private educational institutions, hospitals, private buildings and vehicles will remain under the direct administrative control of the district administration, while educational institutions have also been closed.
According to Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, the people of Nowshera Kalan, Khatkale, Police Lines, Amangarh, Dhobi Ghat, Alam Garden, Osmania, Zahra Mina, adjacent to Kabul River have been ordered to vacate their houses and move to a safe place. They say that there is only 3 to 4 hours to evacuate people from the declared dangerous areas, after that it will be difficult to evacuate people. People should carry what they can carry, evacuate the elderly, women and children, we may have to disconnect power to many areas,so all people are requested to cooperate with the administration so that lives can be saved.
