Islamabad (Urdu Point Newspaper Latest - Online. 01 September 2022) Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed to prepare a package of incentives to save the educational future of students in flood-affected areas. According to the details, Federal Minister of Education Rana Tanveer Hussain. An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman HEC, VCs and senior officials of the Ministry of Education.

During the briefing in the meeting, it was informed that under the educational package, privileges will be given to the students of the flood affected areas. In the meeting, it was also decided to start a campaign to collect donations for the flood victims in the educational institutions, food in the affected areas. Apart from tents, medical campuses and temporary schools will be established. Under the special package of incentives, fee waiver, special scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students will be given. The Education Commission has started its work.

According to the briefing given during the meeting, the education package includes deferment of collection of due university fees, scholarship program will be started for undergraduate/graduate students in flood affected areas. The meeting also agreed to contribute to meet the immediate needs of the people in the flood-affected areas, provided food, tents, medicines, and considered various proposals for setting up medical campuses.
