Maker Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz shouted out about her sentiments on the undoing of Gordita Narratives, the HBO Max show about a tubby Dominican young lady.
"In addition to the fact that it was disheartening when we caught wind of the crossing out, it was a shock since we were attempting to begin shooting [Season 2] half a month after the fact," she told Drifter.
"It felt extremely out of line. It didn't make any difference that our show was dearest, it didn't make any difference that we had great crowd numbers. It didn't make any difference that we were expounding on happy that was significant for underrepresented networks. No part of that made a difference."
The show was dropped just a month in the wake of being delivered in June 2022.
Muñoz-Liebowitz says that the absence of support for series from leaders features an extraordinary issue in Hollywood.
"It's wild to need to contend energetically to keep your substance on the air," Muñoz-Liebowitz added.
"What's more, a major piece of it is the socioeconomics of individuals going with decisions on the business side. On the off chance that we don't have leader ability who see themselves in the material, they won't mind to the point of battling for something since they don't associate with it. What's more, once more, this is a piece of a variety issue that we have in Hollywood at the present time."
Gordita Annals follows Carlota "Cucu" Castelli during the 1980s as she passes on her home in Santo Domingo to seek after the Pursuit of happiness after her dad's work moves him to Miami.
