Karachi weather to remain humid, extremely hot today

 Monday Jun 12, 2023

KARACHI: The most extreme temperature in Karachi is probably going to be between 39°C to 41°C, the Pakistan Meteorological Office (PMD) said Monday.

The weather conditions estimate division further added that affected by the flighty twister Biparjoy — which is probably going to stir things up around town of Sindh on June 15 — the port city will stay damp and very sweltering today.

"The mercury arrived at 34°C in Karachi in the first part of the day," the division said.

The conjecture added that while the most extreme temperature in the city is probably going to be 39°C to 41°C, the base temperature was recorded at 30°C.

"The level of dampness in the air is 41%," the division said, adding that the speed of the breeze blowing from the southeast is 18kmph (kilometers each hour).

Moreover, Dr Sardar Sarfaraz — the main meteorologist of PMD in Sindh — said that the chance of weighty precipitation in a solitary spell can't be precluded.

"50-60mm (millimeters) or a greater amount of downpour is normal in Karachi, he said, adding that the power of tempests is expanding because of environmental change.

"It might require 3-4 days for Biparjoy's power to die down after it hits," he anticipated.

The climate division further shared that during the following twelve hours, exceptionally warm and damp weather conditions is normal in many pieces of the country.

In any case, dust with tempests and downpour with disconnected hailstorms are logical in Kashmir, Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North East Balochistan, and lower Sindh.

In the interim, Thatta, Sajawal, Badin, and Mirpurkhas might get 200-300mm of downpour, the central meteorologist said.
