Erdogan thanks Prime Minister Shehbaz for attending the inauguration ceremony.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif joined world leaders at the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Saturday.
On behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, the Prime Minister conveyed his heartiest congratulations to President Erdogan on his re-election as the President of Turkey and wished him further success.
Along with his best wishes, Prime Minister Shehbaz also presented a special gift to Erdogan and informed him about his specialty during a brief conversation with the Turkish president and his wife Emine Erdogan.
"I have brought Pakistani mangoes for you - half for my brother [Erdogan] and the remaining half for my sister [Emine]," he told Erdogan and the first lady.
The Turkish president and his wife - while smiling at Prime Minister Shehbaz's comments - said they had an idea of the taste and sweetness of Pakistani mangoes.
Emine also thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz for the fruit. While Erdogan praised the prime minister for accepting his invitation and attending the swearing-in ceremony.
Pakistan and Turkey have historical relations that transcend the boundaries of time and geography. Both countries have always stood by each other in times of need and celebrated each other's successes.
The President thanked the Prime Minister and reciprocated the warm sentiments and also conveyed his best wishes to the Government and people of Pakistan.
