Sri Lanka on Sunday caused an embarrassing 128-run rout on the Netherlands in the last of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers at the Harare Sports Club.
Sri Lanka — who stayed unbeaten in the Very Six phase — posted 233 on the scoreboard while batting first. Sahan Arachchige top-scored for the Lankan Tigers scoring 57 off 71 conveyances.
The Netherlands couldn't remain before Sri Lanka's bowling as they were all-out for only 105 runs. Simply three Dutch hitters figured out how to get into twofold figures.
Dilshan Madushanka was named the Player of the Counterpart for his remarkable bowling figures as he took three wickets for only 18 runs.
Wanindu Hasaranga and Mahesh Theeksana of Sri Lanka were the top wicket takers of the competition with 22 and 21 wickets separately.
Sri Lanka and the Netherlands have equipped for the World Cup and accordingly, will play in India in October. The Dutch likewise wiped out West Indies — who neglected to fit the bill for the World Cup without precedent for history — from the race.
It should be noticed that 10 groups will battle for the ICC Cricket World Cup prize across 10 scenes from October 5 to November 19, with the Narendra Modi Arena in Ahmedabad facilitating the competition opener and the last.
The competition will be played in the cooperative organization with all groups playing against one another for a sum of 45 association matches.
The main four groups will meet all requirements for the elimination rounds, which will be held in Mumbai on November 15 and in Kolkata on November 16. The semi-finals and the last will have hold days.
