LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Tuesday reported the arrangement of Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal as the quick bowling and twist bowling trainers, separately, for the men's group.


The recently selected mentors are entrusted to mentor the group for the impending Test series against Australia booked from December 14, 2023 to January 7, 2024 and the T20I series against New Zealand from January 12-21, 2024.


Following the World Cup 2023 failure, the PCB has supplanted the entire administration and instructing staff of the group with Mohammad Hafeez taking over as group chief, Wahab Riaz as boss selector while Shan Masood and Shaheen Afridi were designated as Test and T20 skippers.


Umar Gul recently filled in as the bowling trainer for the Pakistan group during the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, and the resulting series against New Zealand at home.


He has additionally been the bowling trainer for Quetta Fighters in the last PSL season and Afghanistan's bowling trainer in the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup 2022.


Gul made his global presentation in 2003, addressing Pakistan in 47 Tests (163 wickets at 34.06), 130 ODIs (179 wickets at 29.34), and 60 T20Is (85 wickets at 16.97) somewhere in the range of 2003 and 2016.
