Tehran: Iran has seized the American oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman.
According to Iranian media, the Iranian Navy has confirmed the seizure of the American oil tanker St. Nicholas in the Arabian Sea on Thursday.
According to Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency, Tehran seized an oil tanker loaded with crude oil in the Gulf of Oman in accordance with a court order.
On the other hand, the Greek company "Empire Navigation" reported that its "hijacked" tanker Saint Nicholas was chartered by the Turkish "Topras" company.
According to the Greek company, the tanker had about 145,000 metric tons of crude oil, which was sent to Turkey via the Suez Canal from the Iraqi port of Basra.
Earlier, two British maritime security agencies, UKMTO and EMBRI, reported on Thursday that gunmen had boarded a ship in the Gulf of Oman and then lost contact with it.
