May 14, 2024) Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam has said that the dreams of those who spread chaos and anarchy in Azad Kashmir have been crushed, the government of Pakistan, Kashmir and Considering the sacrifices of Gilgit-Baltistan and determined to fulfill their demands above all else, the government of Azad Kashmir has transferred 8.8 billion rupees, 218 employees, 36 vehicles, 23 billion rupees for subsidy in the form of electricity and flour. The Ministry of Kashmir Affairs has sent the summary to the Prime Minister for the provision, soon these funds will also be transferred to the Government of Azad Kashmir.
He was talking to the media outside the Parliament House along with Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar on Tuesday.
Federal Minister Amir Muqam said that he has come to inform about the situation of Azad Kashmir. The protest has ended with the timely notice and action of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are of great importance to Pakistan, we are there for them whenever there is a problem, we appreciate their sacrifices and decision to support Pakistan.
He said that we have transferred the funds of 7.7 billion rupees which were held by the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Kashmir Council to the Azad Kashmir government by amending the demand of the protestors. One billion more have also been transferred to them. . On their demand, 218 employees of Kashmir Council and 36 vehicles have been handed over to the Kashmir government. He said that a committee was working to implement the demands of the Azad Kashmir government, but when the protests started, the Prime Minister took the decision by taking all the stakeholders into confidence.
Federal Minister Amir Maqam said that the Prime Minister had approved 23 billion rupees for subsidy on flour and electricity tariff. The Prime Minister issued orders that the issue related to water dues should also be resolved within 30 days. I am grateful to President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and all those who played a role.
He said that the dreams of those who wanted to create chaos in Azad Kashmir have been shattered. He said that he regretted the loss of precious lives during the protest. In response to a question, he said that the planners believed that hundreds of dead bodies would fall in Azad Kashmir but they have failed. He said that due to the better policies of the government, economic stability is increasing and inflation is decreasing.
