Cape Town Test: Pakistan team suffers from follow-on, South Africa leads by 421 runs in first innings

In the Cape Town Test against South Africa, the Pakistan team fell victim to the follow-on and were dismissed for 194 runs in response to the host team's 615 runs. South Africa took a lead of 421 runs in the first innings. After the follow-on, Pakistan's second innings is underway.

Pakistan started the third day of the Cape Town Test at 64 for 3. With Babar Azam on 31 and Mohammad Rizwan on 9, the national team needed another 551 runs to end the home team's lead.

On the third day, Babar Azam and Rizwan battled for some time, after which the national team's wickets started falling like leaves and the entire team was bowled out for 194 runs. Saim Ayub could not come out to bat due to injury.

Babar Azam was dismissed for 58 and Mohammad Rizwan for 46, Salman Agha for 19 and Aamir Jamal for 15. Kamran Ghulam scored 12 runs, captain Shan Masood scored 2 runs, while Saud Shakeel was dismissed for zero.

For South Africa, Kiwanamaphaka and Keshum Maharaj took two wickets each, while Marco Janssen and Wayne Mulder took one wicket each.

South Africa's first innings

Earlier, on the second day of the Test match, the South African team was bowled out for 615 runs in the first innings. Ryan Rickelton scored a double century, Timba Bavuma and Kyle Verraigne scored centuries.

South Africa resumed play on the second day of the second Test at Newlands, Cape Town, at 316 for 4, but soon after the home team's fifth wicket fell for 323. David Bedingham was dismissed by Mohammad Abbas for 5 runs.

Later in the first session, Ryan Rickleton completed a double century off 266 balls. Ryan Rickleton and Kyle Verraine put on a 148-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Verraine was dismissed for 100.

Rickelton put on an 86-run partnership for the seventh wicket with Marco Janssen. However, Rickelton returned to the pavilion after playing a marathon innings of 259 runs on a total of 557, before being caught out by Mir Hamza.

The eighth bowler for South Africa was Marco Janssen, who scored 62 runs off 54 balls, while in the closing moments, Keshav Maharat contributed with 40 runs to take his team past the 600 mark, while the South African team was all out for 615 runs.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Abbas and Salman Ali Agha took three wickets each, while Mir Hamza and Khurram Shahzad took two wickets each
