Washington: Newly elected US President Donald Trump has expressed hope for a Gaza ceasefire agreement this week.

Speaking to US media, Donald Trump said that the Gaza ceasefire deal is very close and will likely be completed by the end of this week.

Trump, without naming anyone, said that he had to do this and that if he couldn't do it, there would be a big problem, the likes of which he had never seen before.

The newly elected president said regarding the agreement, "I think there has been a handshake, they are finalizing it and it will probably be done by the end of this week."

It should be noted that efforts for a ceasefire agreement in Gaza have entered the final stages, and according to news from various sources, officials from Qatar and other countries have sent the final draft of the ceasefire agreement to Israeli authorities and Hamas
