Jammu (Urdu Point News Latest - APP. 08 February 2024) The occupying administration in India's illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir imposed strict restrictions in Rajouri and Poonch districts before the approval of the controversial Jammu and Kashmir Shieled Tribes Bill by the Indian Parliament. Internet services have been suspended. Through the bill, the upper caste hill people are being included in the list of Scheduled Tribes.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Tribes Order Amendment Bill 2023 has been passed by the Lok Sabha, the Lower House of the Indian Parliament. Following the growing tension against the recent expansion of the Scheduled Tribes in Occupied Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya in both districts. Section 144 has been implemented. This move is an ongoing protest by the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities against the approval of the Scheduled Tribes Bill.
Indian paramilitary and police personnel have been deployed in various parts of Jammu, including Rajouri and Poonch districts, to quell anti-India protests. Internet speed has been reduced to maintain peace and order. The occupying authorities are also closely monitoring the movement of politicians in the occupied territory to prevent any protests against the controversial bill.
Activists of the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities have been opposing this bill for the past several months. Protests against the bill have intensified over the past few days, while tribal activists have demanded that Modi's Indian government withdraw the bill. Activists say the bill is aimed at dividing the vote bank of the Gujjar and Bakarwal community. Giftar Ahmed, a local social activist, said in a post on X that internet services have been suspended in Rajouri and Poonch.
He said that the BJP has exploited the Gujjar Bakarwal community of Jammu and Kashmir by downgrading the status of Scheduled Tribes. And hundreds of workers have been arrested in the entire region.
