Australian cricket team captain Pat Cummins' participation in the ICC Champions Trophy in February has been questioned.

According to media reports, Pat Cummins suffered from ankle problems during the Test series against India.

It was confirmed on Thursday that Pat Cummins will undergo scans on his ankle in the next few days to determine whether he will be able to participate in next month's Champions Trophy in Pakistan and the UAE.

Australian cricket team chief selector George Bailey says we will have to wait and see what the scan results are and how this problem is resolved.

Cummins bowled a total of 167 overs in the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India, the most by any Australian bowler, and took 25 wickets.

It should be noted that Pat Cummins has also withdrawn from the Test series against Sri Lanka due to the birth of his child, and Steve Smith has been given the responsibility of captaincy in his place
