According to data from the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistanis abroad sent 33 percent more money in the first half of the current fiscal year.
According to data released by the central bank, overseas Pakistanis sent $3.07 billion home in December 2024, and remittances in December 2024 are 29% higher than in December 2023.
The data shows that the highest amount of $770 million was sent from Saudi Arabia and $630 million from the United Arab Emirates. In addition, $450 million was sent from the United Kingdom, $360 million from Europe, and $280 million from the United States
According to the State Bank, Pakistanis sent 33 percent more money in the first half of the current fiscal year. Pakistanis sent $17.84 billion home in 6 months. Workers’ remittances from January to December 2024 were $34.65 billion.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the nation on the record increase in remittances and said that $3.1 billion in remittances had arrived by December 2024, which is 5.6% more than November 2024. From December 2023 to December 2024, remittances increased by 29.3%.
