The Pakistan Cricket Board has sent 20 names for the preliminary squad for the ICC Champions Trophy.
Today is the last date to submit the preliminary squad for the Champions Trophy to the ICC. According to sources, the Pakistan Cricket Board has sent 20 names to the ICC for the preliminary squad for the Champions Trophy.
According to PCB sources, the 20 names sent for the preliminary squad will not be announced at this time. Sources say that by the time the final squad is announced on February 11, Pakistan will have already played two matches of the tri-series
Sources say that clarity will also come regarding Saim Ayub by the time the final squad is made, in addition to this, the players included in the list of 20 players will participate in the tri-series.
Pakistan has to play a tri-series before the Champions Trophy. There are not many changes in the squad playing against South Africa for the tri-series. Fakhar Zaman is likely to be given a chance for the tri-series.
Saim Ayub's participation in the Champions Trophy is subject to fitness.
Sources said that the preliminary squads announced by the teams until February 11 can be changed without the approval of the ICC, but the squads announced after February 12 can be changed only after the permission of the ICC Technical Committee.
It should be noted that the ICC Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan and Dubai under a hybrid model from February 19 to March 9.
For ICC events, teams are required to submit names one month before the support period as per the prescribed procedure. The support period for the ICC Champions Trophy will begin on February 12
