ISPR carried out operations regarding the reported presence of terrorists. recovered weapons and ammunition from terrorists who had been killed. Security personnel were determined to eliminate the terrorist threat. The military's media arm reported on Sunday that security forces had killed at least nine Indian-sponsored terrorists in three separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement stating that the security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Dera Ismail Khan district in response to reports of Indian-sponsored terrorists being present. “During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij [terrorists] location, and after an intense fire exchange, four Indian-sponsored khwarij were sent to hell,” read the statement.

In Tank district, another intelligence-based operation was carried out. During the subsequent firefight, two additional Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed. According to the ISPR, troops were successful in neutralizing three additional terrorists during the third encounter, which took place in general area Bagh, Khyber district. The dead terrorists, who continued to be involved in numerous terrorist activities in these areas, were also found to have weapons and ammunition. According to the statement, sanitation operations were carried out to get rid of any other terrorists who might have been in the area. This was done because Pakistani security forces "are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country." Since the Taliban's return to Afghanistan in 2021, Pakistan has seen an increase in terror attacks, particularly in the bordering provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. However, Pakistan's security landscape showed some promising signs in the first quarter of 2025, with militant and insurgent deaths outnumbering civilian and security force casualties. According to The News, the key findings, which were released by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS), revealed a nearly 13% decrease in overall violence and significantly fewer fatalities among civilians and security forces personnel compared to the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan continue to be the epicenters of violence, accounting for 98% of all fatalities. In addition, attacks are becoming more daring and militant tactics are developing, such as the unprecedented hijacking of the Jaffar Express. Projections warn of over 3,600 fatalities by year-end if current trends persist, potentially making 2025 one of Pakistan’s deadliest years.

Individually, Balochistan was responsible for 35% of all fatalities during the time under review, and it saw an alarming 15% increase in violence compared to the previous quarter. Because the number of fatalities has remained extremely low, the comparison ignores the surge that was observed in other provinces or regions.
